Thoughts of the Day – Lightning’s Boob Job… A Different Kind of Fantasy

The news story we are discussing on Thoughts of the Day today is an older one, but its definitely a disturbing one.

Today, I’m taking a look at the controversy around Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and how the director of the game, Motomu Toriyama, instructed his development staff to give Lightning bigger breasts, upgrading her from a Japanese C-cup to a D-cup. Lightning’s breasts will also jiggle now, depending on what she’s wearing, because the director wanted it that way.

Basically, I feel that this is one of the stupidest and pointless moves to come from the Square-Enix camp. I also feel this is just another showing of the decline in quality that we have seen from Square Enix in recent years.

Do you think that Lightning needed her breasts enhanced? Is this essential to capture the attention of Final Fantasy gamers and improve the gameplay experience? Or is this a pointless move that is only being done to fluff up what is sure to be a terrible game?
