Man, that set looks pretty. I should really get into this. Now seems like the time!

I hate to be negative towards a franchise I love dearly, but this set is kind of a joke for long-time fans. If you are a big enough fan of the series you probably already have most of the stuff that’s in there, and you probably already paid a hefty amount to get it all. When I first saw all those discs I got excited that maybe they were going to release some of the Alpha titles for current gen consoles, but no, The soundtracks and documentary are kinda cool. I could care less about the anime stuff. I don’t know the quality of the statue or other pack-ins to pass judgment on them, but I don’t see how it could justify spending that kind of money. Especially considering how much I’ve already shelled out for the games and and DLC and costume packs (and I still don’t have them all).

If I didn’t already have a lot of the stuff that’s in there then sure, it would be a great deal, but isn’t this supposed to be a collector’s edition to celebrate the long time fans of a series that’s survived 25 years? At risk of sounding like one of those internet haters, this feels more like a slap in the face than anything else.

I totally agree, for those who are long term fans. But for people who are new to the franchise, this is a great opportunity to jump into the action all at once.
