Capcom confirmed today that Resident Evil 6 will be receiving three new online multiplayer modes to be released as DLC sometime after the game’s October 2nd launch. Survivors Mode is similar to traditional team-based multiplayer, but if you die you respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the remaining humans. Kill two humans in this form and you will return to being human again. Predator Mode puts one player as the Ustanak (the big, nasty guy pictured below) who has to eliminate all the human players within a certain amount of time. If you are playing the human side, you have to either take down the creature or survive the allotted time period. Last, there is Siege Mode where two teams fight over a non-playable character, humans trying to protect them until time runs out while the non-humans have to kill the NPC to win.
All three modes will support up to six players online and will use maps available in the Mercenaries Mode that is included at launch. Additional maps will be released with the DLC that will be compatible with all of the multiplayer modes. There will also be more goodies released along with the DLC that have not yet been announced. Players will be able to keep track of all of their progress and achievements if they register at ResidentEvil.net.
Resident Evil 6 will release on October 2, 2012 on X-Box 360 and PS3 and at a later date on the PC. You can learn more at www.facebook.com/residentevil
