Capcom’s classic, Okami, is getting a high definition upgrade and is heading to the PlayStation Network tomorrow, October 31st. Originally released in 2006, Okami pushed the limits of the PlayStation 2 in terms of both graphics and gameplay. For those of you who missed it, the game puts you in the paws of Amaterasu, a sun goddess, who has taken the form of a white wolf. With the help of the celestial brush, Amaterasu and her companion Issun must undo a curse brought on by the demon Orochi and bring life back to Nippon.

The game is rather Zelda-esque in terms of format, but it brings to the table plenty of its own unique attributes. The celestial brush is the best example of this. It allows you to freeze the screen, turning it to a canvas drawing, and allows you to draw symbols or make gestures to bring life back to the plants and tress, attack your enemies, or remove obstacles from the environment. A most innovative way to incorporate the games beautiful sumi-e inspired design into the gameplay itself.

Okami HD will feature all new trophies as well as PlayStation Move support. It is priced at $19.99. You can visit www.capcom-unity.com for more information.
