The Lego game franchise continues its spree with the latest installment, this time in the Marvel Universe, the company announced today. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is coming this fall to just about every system available: X-box 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, PC, Nintendo DS and 3DS, as well as Playstation Vita. The game will tie in Lego sets from the Marvel universe that are available in stores right now, bringing together elements like buildings and vehicles from the Iron Man, Spider-Man, and X-Men franchises.
The original storyline has Nick Fury calling upon the Marvel heroes to once again save Earth from the vengeful Loki and hungry Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds. Like previous games, this one is expected to follow suit with the usual Lego humor and renditions of scenes, while selecting characters from a large pool – more than 100 characters. Combat, puzzle solving and a story will be woven in the gameplay, similar to many other Lego games, such as Lego Lord of the Rings.
“Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game,” said TQ Jefferson, Vice President of Games Production at Marvel Entertainment.
No specific release date is set right now.
