Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that Gotham City Impostors is going to be available on Steam and it is free-to-play. This version will include all 8 maps and 4 game modes as well as all of the weapons, including those that were only available by purchasing DLC. It will feature a drop in matchmaking system that ensures you will be placed in a populated server and it will be Steamworks enabled.

If you are unfamiliar with the title, Gotham City Impostors was developed by Monolith Productions and released in February 2012 on PC, X-Box Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. It is a 12 on 12 first-person shooter that features a wide array of weapons, gadgets, traps and items. As you play and level up more weapons, perks and bonuses become available to you. There are four game modes: Team Death Match, Bounty Hunter (players drop a coin when killed and a point is scored for collecting the coin), Fumigation (a spin on capture-the-objective), and Psych Warfare (you must pick up and attach a battery at your team’s base). It also has a Challenge Mode where you can test your skills with various weapons and gadgets.

Watch the trailer below, or better yet, just download the game and try it now at Steam. You can visit gothamcityimpostors.com for more information.

I hope the guys who bought the game and the DLC get something, looks to me like they just got ripped off.

The game was worth the 1200 MS points in my opinion. It is a great game that was good to me. But… if they offer us something sweet, I would be a happy camper.

I hope they at least put out another update for the console versions. It is dire need of a new patch. I also have on good source that there are still some weapons and items that were created, but not yet released.
If anyone has right to be miffed it is the X-Box community since the game is also free for PlayStation Plus members (at least it was, I’m not sure if that is still the case). Still, I can’t be too upset about paying a total of $25 for a game that I played for well over 100 hours and am still playing.

      Completely agree. $25 well spent.
A new update would be great.
