We’re taking a short break from Cracking the Case, as we introduce a brand new feature to GameNTrain and the GameOn podcast.

Fighting For Fitness is a combined effort through the GameOn podcast and Pro Fitness gym in Cranbrook, British Columbia, supported by independent Isagenix consultant Rick Voisey.

The feature will focus on a three month journey to better health, taking my fitness routine to a new level.

As I’ve mentioned previously in an article of Jeff’s Jabs, I have always lived with a yo-yo effect on my weight. I was at my heaviest about 9 years ago when I weighed 270 pounds. When I hit that weight, it was a wake-up call to me to change what I was doing and get into a fitness routine.

Through that routine, I lost 70 pounds in a year and a half. My new weight was 200 pounds, but I could never get past that 200 pound marker.

Today, I now weigh 258 pounds.

There are a number of factors that go into this weight gain. I had a sports injury a couple of years back, combined with a change in jobs that removed much of the physical labour from my life. Add that with developing a mild case of sciatica in recent years and that’s left me out of the gym for a while.

Whatever the reasons leading up to it, I am currently 12 pounds away from the most that I have ever weighed. Not only that, but I have a child on the way, a major change for my personal and family life. That child deserves a father that will not be limited by his body size and weight. I deserve to live a full and healthy life.

It’s time for another wake-up call.

Through the help of independent Isagenix consultant Rick Voisey and my local gym Pro Fitness,  I plan to fight back, shed the pounds and regain my life. The last time I entered a total fitness plan, I reached a weight of 200 pounds, dropping 70 pounds in a year and a half.

This time, I plan to take that effort one step further.

My goal for this three month program is to weigh under 200 pounds. That’s a weight loss of 60 pound in 90 days.

I have not weighed under 200 pounds in over 12 years, so to reach this goal would be a monumental accomplishment and truly show what Isagenix and a proper fitness plan with regular exercise is capable of.

Over the next three months, you’ll get to join me as I kick this program into overdrive. On GameOn, I will take you through a different element of my weight loss program every week and I will also talk to fitness experts about some of the common challenges many workout routines face.

Here on GameNTrain, I will also take you through my new diet and some of the foods and recipes that I am trying out, while avoiding fatty foods and the negative fuels for your body.

You also follow my progress here on www.gamentrain.com. Every Wednesday, I will post an update of my fitness progress, including my weekly meal schedule, my current weight and what exercises I have been doing throughout the week.

In case you want to join in this program for yourself, you can find out more information at Rick Voisey’s website.

I will stress that this program may be the best fit for me right now, but it might not be the best option for yourself.  Remember, always consult with your physician or personal therapist before making any significant change to your own personal weight loss or exercise program. What works for one person does not necessarily have the same effect on another person, so bear that in mind.

With that out of the way, be sure to join me over the next three months for this journey to better health.

Fighting for Fitness with Jeff Johnson begins on Wednesday, August 1. You can find the latest updates on GameOn and GameNTrain.
