You are at the gym, you hear grunting, screaming and then a bang of the weights. You take a look over and often see someone whop things they are a lot bigger than they really are. What are they wearing? A leather back brace lifting belt. I personally don’t like those belts. Here’s why.

Weight belts keep your core tight and secure preventing injury to the lower back. Problem is, when wearing the weight belt, your core muscles do not need to engage as much as they would if there was no extra support. Training without the belt means your core muscles have to work hard to maintain stability which gives you a better overall workout to the core. Maybe you can’t go as heavy but your workout is one which is controlled by your body and not equipment.
