Facebook Friday – What’s Your Thoughts on the Wii U?

Facebook Friday is here! The newest feature on GameOn, as we turn to you, our audience, for your thoughts on some of the biggest issues in gaming!

Every Friday, GameNTrain will introduce a new question of the week, looking for your thoughts. This is our chance to connect with you, our listeners and viewers. Its also your chance to have your say on some pretty hot issues in gaming.

This week’s question…

With the announcement of the PS4, what’s your thoughts on the Wii U’s place in the current console wars?

Can the Wii U keep up to the PlayStation 4? The new system was unveiled earlier this week in an announcement by Sony and could be a major stepping stone in video game design. Meanwhile, the Wii U was released with games already seen on both the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.

Once Microsoft announces its new player in the video game market, will Nintendo’s Wii U still have a place in the console wars?

For more of our thoughts on the Wii U, check out the video below!

More importantly, we want to hear from you! Make your thoughts known!

You can leave your comments here on GameNTrain, on YouTube, and of course on Facebook and Twitter!

We’ll look at the comments you left and talk about them in next week’s Facebook Friday!

Once again, this week’s question…

With the announcement of the PS4, what’s your thoughts on the Wii U’s place in the current console wars?

Special thanks to Year 200X for supplying the theme to GameOn’s new intro! Check them out here!

Ooohh, Jeff you missed Super Mario 3D Land! :( Also Nintendo would disagree with you this year about Luigi. It’s big year for him this year, according to them.

Also, Nintendo Land does come with the system, you just have to buy the more expensive version.

OK, I’ll give you Super Mario 3D Land… That gives a little bit of innovation at least. I’m just getting sick of seeing the New Super Mario Bros… IT’S NOT NEW ANYMORE.

As for Nintendo Land, why should I have to buy a more expensive version of the system just so I can get that game? As far as I’m concerned, give the game to everybody or don’t do it at all. After playing it, I honestly don’t think its worth buying on its own.

The 2D Mario games I agree with you but I find the 3D Mario games incredible. It’s hard believe that we only have had 5 3D Mario games in 16 years. I think Nintendo will be fine if they continue to make great exclusives and especially if they have great online multiplayer. Think of Smash and Mario Kart with good online. I’ll never leave house if they could pull that off. lol

Hi Brent, I really enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy myself and you’re right, online multiplayer is key to success. Trying to set-up multiplayer with the Wii was just weird and not nearly as streamlined as how XBox Live works.

Oh man, Smash Online with a solid online would be amazing. I’d be a shut in too!

I am chiming in with only about 15 minutes of play on Mario while avoiding a long GameStop line. I will admit that I did enjoy playing the game for those 15 minutes but I think that Jeff hit the nail on the head. The game is the same damn thing I played back in the day on the original Nintendo. It is pretty crazy how the same game can continuously be remade.
Since I was playing in the store I did not have the opportunity to play any other titles. Zombie U is the game that I really wanted to give a go being that I heard so many good things about it.
I will not be purchasing a Wii U. The last nintendo product I have owned was a Nintendo 64, so I guess you can say it has been a while. With the new PS3 and Xbox being released later this year, I feel that Nintendo will again be behind the times in terms of technology. I guess that they are lucky that people love playing the same Mario games over and over.

So far I’m loving the Wii U I’ve always have bought Nintendo products since the SNES and I think this is the best console they’ve ever realesed.

Thanks for your thoughts Dan. Its great to see that kind of loyalty to a video game company! Who knows where the future will take the Wii U, but at this point, I think Nintendo has their work cut out for them.

I think the wii u is fantastic and will become a great system like 3ds is

    • kerriganmarois

Too bad the Wii u is lacking games right now. I think that ninth is saving reveals to counter ps4 and nextbox at e3

      • http://twitter.com/FlameDragon_ Stealth

        every system lacks games

        • kerriganmarois

I did see anything that even remotely piqued my interest as a gamer from ps4′s presentation. I can’t wait to see new DKC/F-Zero/Metroid/Zelda/Xenoblade/Bayonetta etc etc etc at e3. Once some of that software is out, Ninty’s sales will go through the roof, just like the 3ds did. SLUNTCHOP OUT
