Next time you log into League of Legends, expect a lengthy update and some major differences. Riot Games has been rolling out changes for several weeks, but yesterday’s patch has made some of the most dramatic adjustments we’ve seen thus far. The most obvious differences are in the user interface. Aesthetic updates make it easier to see what level each of your abilities is at and what number your items are assigned to. The shop has undergone a major renovation. Items have been reorganized and are now searchable by name. You can now filter items by multiple categories. Say you need an item that gives mana regen and magic resistance, it is now a whole lot easier to narrow that list down to relevant items instead of  looking through each mana regen or magic resist item and trying to find something does both.

In addition to the interface changes there have also been major adjustments to the game. The effects of many items have been tweaked. The composition of some late-game items has been reworked, some items have been removed, some have been added. The mastery system has also been significantly changed with the addition of several new perks. All summoners; mastery pages have been reset, so you’ll have to rework your loadouts before jumping in to any games.

There are plenty of other changes and adjustments to the game and individual champions, so you’ll probably want to check out the full patch notes here. Riot also has a site dedicated to all the current and upcoming Preseason 3 changes here.  Also, be sure to watch Riot’s video overview, which you’ll find below.
