A couple new screenshots have surfaced online for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. These screenshots are both in-game conceptual art. One of these screenshots shows an unhooded Edward Kenway going in for a stealth kill. There are a couple screenshots that feature one of the big cities players will be explore, Havana located in Cuba. As a reminder, Edward will be able to carry up to four pistols. In one screen we see him shooting a soldier’s kneecap…yikes. Ubisoft Montreal wants to give freedom to players with their open world. Meaning that players can spot a beach full of soldiers, jump off the Jackdaw and swim to the shore. Check the gallery below for some screenshots and concept art!

According to this Q&A with the Creative Director, Jean Guesdon there are a couple details about stealth and Edwards arsenal. Stealth-wise, he can use people’s homes to hide behind doors, hire prostitutes to distract a patrol of guards or getting drunk pirates to do the dirty fighting for him. His main arsenal will consist of dual swords and four pistols (Edward will start the game with one pistol and players will have to upgrade his capacity to increase the amount of pistols he can carry). The Assassin will also be able to use the iconic hidden blades which have been present in previous Assassin’s Creed games. The Rope Dart from AC3 is returning while another weapon is introduced and it is the blowpipe (which could be previously used in Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation). This blowpipe will be equipped with multiple effect darts.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is scheduled to release for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on October 29th. The PC and next-gen version will be released later.
