Assassin’s Creed III will release in less than a month, so why not keep covering it and keep the hype up? Be ready, because it’s a lot of time you’ll spend in this article.

First, let’s take a look at a new gameplay demo of Assassin’s Creed III because we like gameplay! In this demo, Connor infiltrates and explores Fort Wolcott in search for a piece of a treasure map a character in the game tips him to go search for it. This demo is a great example of the optional objectives players can complete to make the game more challenging for gamers. Take note that for certain checkpoints the game adds different optional objectives. Hardcore players from the franchise will definitely strive to get 100% on each mission (I know I will). Also Desmond fans get rewarded for seeing him running, well sort of. Start the video at 1:30.

Next up, Creative Director Alex Hutchinson and Animation Director Jonathan Cooper give a Developer Session for the Eurogamer Expo attendees. In this video they talk about the three pillars of Assassin’s Creed and how they approached it for the Assassin’s Creed III development. They show some nice prototype gameplay on both navigation and combat aspects. Alex talked about elements they implemented in Assassin’s Creed III that can help the player progress in the game like the main storyline, elements like hunting can provide some multitasking activities to players, players could be surprised by smugglers or people from the environment and board games as a toy element. Jonathan talked about the importance of animation and he explains the different concepts they had for Connor and yes they included animation tests with Connor demonstrating his parkour abilities. Jonathan confirmed that Desmond’s parkour movement are a different set from Connor’s.

Mission Director Philippe “Phys” Bergeron and Associate Producer Julien Laferriere join Gamespot Australia for a Q & A session followed by the same gameplay demo that was posted above.
