The road to fitnesss is not the same for everyone.

Some people have a different metabolism than others, while some are more inclined to work out on a regular basis.

Then there are people who have to take on debilitating injuries and illnesses. For these people, the road to fitness is definitely an uphill battle, as actor Kevin Sorbo can attest to.

While partway through the filming of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Kevin Sorbo experienced three strokes. To some people, this world-shattering moment is often of the line. However, in this case, Kevin managed to fight back and maintain his career.

Kevin Sorbo details his journey to better health in his new memoir, True Strength: My Journey from Hercules to Mere Mortal – and How Nearly Dying Saved My Life.  He talks about how he went from working 14 hours a day to only an hour and a half a day after his strokes. Kevin also talks about the important role that family served in his recovery.

Kevin Sorbo continues to act to this day, starring recently in films like Abel’s Field and the cable movie Christmas Angel, both set to be released in 2012.
