With September passing me by like some sort of speed loving, crazy-ass month it’s only just dawned on me that the Eurogamer Expo 2012, in London, begins in just a little over 7 days. There are just two things that seem abundantly clear to me right now, because everything else is a jumbled haze of developer sessions and masterclasses. Number 1: I am getting almost as giddy as little Ciaran used to get on Christmas morning, one time even going so far as having an asthma attack and ending up in hospital (which was thoroughly enjoyable). Number 2: 7 days is not a long time in the grand scheme of things and so the Expo will be here before I know it!
Now I’m not ashamed to admit that this will be the first Expo and gaming event that I’ve ever attended, but I am more than happy to announce that I will be covering the last 2 days of it for GameNTrain. When I started writing for GameNTrain back in February, I had set my sights upon being granted a press pass for the Eurogamer Expo and now, within what seems like only a short amount of time, here we are. Recently, I’ve begun to get a tingly feeling in my special place whenever I look at what’s on offer at the Expo. Games including Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance, Dishonoured, Far Cry 3, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Assassin’s Creed 3, ZombiU and many, many more will all be on offer to gamers and journalists alike. There are industry fairs offering insight and advice for careers in gaming, as well as developer sessions providing us with a sneaky peek behind the scenes of some of our most beloved games producers. It’s even got a Cosplay Contest, so if you’re a fan of ladies in fancy dress then you’re going to be in sort of gaming heaven.
Is there anything that this Expo hasn’t got?
I highly doubt it, but for the time being let’s just gleefully repeatedly read the schedule and look forward to one of Europe’s biggest gaming events of the year!
Toodle pip!
